Biographical history
Victory Loan Committees were established throughout BC in 1918 for the purpose of raising funds to reduce the debt of World War I. City Council spearheaded the organization of a committee in Enderby and canvassers were appointed for every district in the City and surrounding area. The Committe raised $53,650 and received from the BC Executive the Governor General's Honour Flag with 2 Crowns. Special Canvassing Districts associated with Enderby were also organized; Mara raised $5,500 and Sicamous raised $13,500.
Custodial history
Records were found in the basement of the City Hall building in 1987, when the Museum Society moved in. It is believed that the records were left at City Hall because the secretary of the Committee was none other than Hazel Rosoman, Assistant City Clerk.
