History
Harry Barber was born in Alton, Ontario, and arrived in Chilliwack in 1898 to establish a drugstore. He was active in various civic organizations, most notably as the President of Chilliwack Board of Trade. He was Mayor of Chilliwack from 1914 to 1917 and was a Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Fraser Valley from 1925 to 1940.
