    Biographical history

    Edward Ned Bolton was born to Arthur and Rebecca Bolton on September 18, 1915 in Port Essington. He was Chief of the Kitsum Kalum Band and a long-time worker for the Native Brotherhood of British Columbia. He married Effie Charlotte Harrison, born December 14, 1920 in Hazelton, and the couple raised eight children. Edward worked in the fishing industry as a packer and was an employee of Cassiar Packing Company. In the 1950s he was an assistant postmaster at Port Essington and also during the 1950s served on the Provincial Advisory on Indian Affairs in British Columbia. He died on March 10, 1991 in Port Alberni and is buried in Terrace.

    The fonds consists of correspondence (1942-1953) with the Cassiar Packing Company, miscellaneous papers, and cancelled cheques issued by the Essington Fish Camp and signed by Bolton.
