Biographical history
The Women's Auxiliary to the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League, Branch 94 was organized in Quesnel in 1938 and received its charter in 1939. The original charter members were Mesdames Hilborn, Fleming, Hill, Collver, Parsons, Anderson, Bradshaw, Mitchell, Bergerson, Smith, Archibald, Brereton, Ohms, Thompson and Brereton. The primary objective of the auxiliary was to care and advocate for veterans and their dependents. One of the main ways that the auxiliary assisted in the war effort was in sending parcels containing letters, cigarettes, sweaters, socks, cakes, cookies, and other items. The Women's Auxiliary later became the Ladies Auxiliary to Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 94.
