Collection consists of a scrapbook of newspaper articles collected by Darlene Chapman, a member of the Community Hall Committee of 1975-1976. The collection documents the Committee's drive to have a new complex built in Oliver, including various fund-raising efforts, the breaking of ground for the new complex, updates on the construction process, and the eventual grand opening. Also included is a copy of the opening ceremonies program and one of the official ceremony invitations.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver Sawmills Ltd from 1944-1958. Includes correspondence, employee records, and publicity photographs which document the company's administrative structure, its growth, and its local/provincial involvement in the lumber industry.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver Teen Town Association from 1962 to 1966. Includes a scrapbook containing newspaper articles, correspondence, announcements, minutes, awards, certificates, ribbons, greeting cards, convention programs, a revised copy of the Association's constitution, and some photographs. The records document the Association's purpose, its administrative structure, their community participation (March of Dimes children's hospital visits), and their provincial activities such as conventions.

Fonds consists of the Cradle Roll records of the Oliver United Church from 1929-1956. Includes 173 cards documenting the births of many of the local residents. Each card lists the baby's name, the day/month/year of the birth, the parents' names, the family's address, and the date on which the birth was officially registered. Of note, not all births were registered in the same month or even the same year as the birth date.

Fonds consists of the records of the St.Martin's Hospital from 1939 to 1975. Includes correspondence, administrative records, legal documents, and architectural drawings. The records deal mainly with the upkeep of hospital equipment and the installation of a new elevator.

Fonds consists of records of the British Columbia Government Agent stationed in Fairview, B.C. from 1917 to 1926. Includes a letterbook containing the carbon copies of Government Agent James R. Brown's letters, memos and accounts payable receipts. The letters and receipts document Mr. Brown's involvement in the supervision of the construction of roads and bridges.

Collection consists of 56 field notebooks compiled by various B.C. Land Surveyors from 1871-1923, including both originals and photostat copies. The field notebooks include hand-written notes and remarks, hand-drawn maps and sketches, and geological surveys from the Oliver, Osoyoos and Similkameen districts. Each notebook documents a specific mineral claim, land purchase, or pre-emption of land by local residents.

Fonds consists of the personal records of Clifford Atley Charlton from 1934-1944. Includes a cash book containing the monthly and yearly household tallies for Mr. Charlton's home and farm. Each months' tally shows income (pension, crop income), general expenses (bank note on farm, tractor repairs). Also included in the cash book are some personal notes, and pages of detailed meteorological data. The meteorological data could have been compiled for the Oliver Meteorological Station, during Mr. Charlton's career as official weather monitor.

Collection consists of the personal photographs taken and collected by Mrs. Edith Rienhart (nee Barritt) from ca. 1880 to 1985. Includes family portraits, individual portraits, photographs of family activities and gatherings, and views of local homes, businesses and scenic landmarks. The photographs document the Barritt and Rienhart family life, the growth (physically, economically and socially) of the town of Oliver and the various types of local farming.

Fonds consists of the records of the Fairview Days Committee from 1979-1985. Includes general administrative records, correspondence, lists of participants, pioneer biographical information, and ephemera which document the committee's celebration preparations.

Fonds consists of the personal records of Hugh Porteous from 1923, ca 1940-1969 and 1982. Includes a scrapbook (ca. 1940-1969, 1982) filled with newspaper articles written by Mr. Porteous (a few about him) during his career as a reporter. In addition, there are articles (obituaries, announcements of marriage) about various members of his family. Of particular note in the scrapbook is a typed article written by Elizabeth Kangyal (1982), hailing Mr. Porteous' achievements. This article was presented to Mr. Porteous at his 89th birthday in 1982. Also found within the scrapbook is a stock certificate (1923) made out to Hugh Porteous for 50 shares of the Oliver Co-operative Growers' Exchange.

Fonds consists of the records compiled by the Oliver 75th Anniversary Planning Committee from 1994-1997. Includes minutes, correspondence, administrative records, project notes, ephemera and photographs which document the committee's preparations for, and participation in, Oliver's 75th anniversary celebrations.

The collection consists of twelve items including manuscripts on archaeology and Oliver's history, mining shares and other certificates, a tax sale and a water agreement. The items cover the years 1904 to 1987. Also includes an original invitation to the opening of the new Golden Gate Hotel in Fairview, B.C.

Collection consists of approximately 500 photographs documenting the activities of the Oliver Elementary School from 1931 to 1970. Includes class portraits, staff portraits, and school events. Some of the school events featured include: school music festivals, drama productions, sports days and track meets, May Day celebrations, and class reunions. Accompanying the photos are some textual records such as programs, flyers, pamphlets, certificates, school newsletters, and some correspondence.

Fonds consists of the records and documents of the Elliott family members from 1919 to 1945. Includes correspondence, personal data documents, and financial records. The records detail the family careers, activities, interests and economic status.

Fonds consists of the personal records of the Venables family from ca. 1897-1986. Includes correspondence, diaries, certificates and family genealogy, and ephemera collected by various Venables family members during the course of their lives. The majority of the records are from Frank Venables, with a few records from his wife, Vera, and brother, Vincent.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver and District Senior Citizens Society from 1955-1975 in regards to the establishment of a Senior Citizen's home called "Sunnybank Centre". Includes administrative records, correspondence, minutes, reports, legal documents, financial reports, and ephemera.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver International Horse Show Society from 1957-1980. Includes administrative records, minutes, correspondence, financial records and ephemera. The records document the Society's formation, its growth from a local horse show to an international event, as well as the time and effort that went into the production of such a large-scale event.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver Meteorological Station from 1925-1957 and 1967-1970. Includes two official Meteorological Service of Canada registers, and a notebook recording data on local weather. The first register contains five pages of data on the maximum and minimum temperatures of each day in various months from 1938 and 1954. The majority of the data was collected by the Official Weather Recorder, Clifford Charlton, the rest by Allan Abel. The second register only contains two pages of data - the maximum and minimum temperatures for April 1942, and data on mean temperatures and humidity, wind and rainfall. The notebook contains extensive data on the highest and lowest monthly temperatures, average monthly temperatures, and the total amounts of rain or snowfall recorded in the Oliver area. Data is listed for every month in each year from 1925-1957. Also included are five loose pages of meterorological data from 1967-1970, also compiled by Clifford Charlton.

Fonds consists of the records of the Oliver Women's Institute from 1922 – Feb. 1985. Includes administrative records, minutes, correspondence, reports, certificates, publications, scrapbooks and ephemera which document the Women's Institute's numerous interests and community projects.

The collection consists of audio cassettes of interviews with pioneers and long-time residents of Oliver and area, and of lectures and meetings of the Oliver-Osoyoos Branch of the Okanagan Historical Society. The recordings were made during the years, 1978 to 1991. Subject areas of interviews include fruit growing, logging, mining and family histories.
